american werewolf in london

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I just saw the above mentioned flick for the first time last night- pretty good Halloween movie I must say. Humorous, a couple of jumpy moments, and a really good scene in which the main character transforms for the first time. Overall a very good 80's horror flick.

So tonight is the night, Halloween has arrived. I am planning on staying in and handing out candy, maybe watching the grudge with Alex. Halloween on a Wednesday just does not appeal to me, I totally out-costumed myself last weekend. It's always fun to see the little kiddies in costume though- so hopefully the tricker-treaters will be out in full force.

In other Halloween news, I have seen many adults in costume walking the streets of Ballard. My new window seat is really paying off today, so far I have seen 'little red riding hood', a witch, and a fireman (although I think that may have been his actual attire- hard to tell exactly since there was no truck in sight). I also rode the elevator with a man dressed in a bald wig and funny glasses. He wins so far.

Wish I had more to say- its colder then cold out- boo urns. BOOoooooooooo urns.

Why don't skeletons ever go out on the town?
Because they don't have any body to go out with...

all hallows weekend . . . . . SCARY SPICE

Happy Halloween!!!! well- happy almost halloween.

What a weekend! Kinda makes this tired, grey, rainy Monday easier to handle though, too tired to do much more then stare out the window . . . . .

Friday night I headed out to a costume party in S. Lake Union, 'Just Cauz'. It was a charity function for children in Africa (so something), and was held in an old Army gymnasium that apparently has been there all my life, yet I've never noticed it. Odd. It felt very "highschool dance"- but in an awesome, open bar, everyone trying to hook up it up with the sluttiest costume sort of way. This suprisingly turned out to be my favorite night of halloween weekend. Everyone was dressed up, and there were some truly RAD costumes- my favorite being the travelocity gnome. I went with a gaggle of my gals dressed as the best british pop group of the 90's- the spice girls. I was scary.

Saturday the spice girls continued their comeback tour at a wonderful, third annual, halloween bash in Fremont. Alex came along to this party, so we made a great couple- scarey spice and a monk. HA.

Unquestionable highlight of Sat. night was watching my 30 year old British roommate do his FIRST EVER KEG STAND! Apparently the brits just don't do the keg stand thing in 'uni' like we do. I have attempted the dreaded keg stand only a few times in my life, and I can safely say I will NEVER do another one- that being said- I LOVE watching others dribble cheap beer down there chin whilst kicking their legs high over their head. HA. Great moment of the night. Andy, you did us proud.

Wednesday . . . . .

So- work on Wednesdays- nothing good , right? Rain rain rain, uhhuh. Here's some good new though . . . . .

I recently moved desk spaces in my office so I now sit by the window looking out on Market Street. I have to say, work life has improved immensely, really it has. It's not like me to be so positive whilst at the 9 ta 5er, but this new window seat provides much distraction from my tasks, a true work miracle on its own.

Example- peeps gathering at the bus stop across the street. I get at least a 25 min distraction them alone! Loud shouting matches between day time drunks and territorial transients. Why is it that all the oddballs gather together at the bus stop? I ride the bus from time to time, and although not altogether 'sane' I can state with decent conviction that I am not a "bus spot peep", if you know what I mean . . . . do you? Is it because I am not a regular pass holding rider? Never the less- it's a great time killer. Finally the bus crazies pay off! As someone who used to ride the Greyhound line WAY more then is desirable, it's nice to enjoy the metro riders from across the street!
